I’m not a professional software engineer. I barely know programming syntax. But I have problem-solving skills and can give AI good prompts. That’s enough to start creating.

Recently, I built a custom HTML section for our company website with AI. So I decided to test my “AI coding limit” using Cursor AI.

In this guide, I’ll show how to use Cursor AI and Claude 3.7 for Vibe Coding. Example: I’ll create a WordPress plugin that adds a “questionnaire” widget in Elementor, plus some helpful tips & tricks.

Imagine building a configuration app. A regular coder has to worry about files, folders, database setup — a lot of hassle.

With Cursor AI or Claude, one detailed prompt is enough — AI organizes everything for you.

Step 1: Create a Convention File

A Convention File is a guideline document. It explains coding standards, tech stack, workflow, and how to communicate with AI. AI can even help you write it.

Experiment 1: Using Claude 3.7

I started with Claude 3.7 because it shows code in real time and (as of April 2025) was one of the best AI coding tools.

I didn’t create a Convention File first. My prompt:

“I need a prototype app where users answer a few questions to find the best AI Agent solution for them.”

Claude worked! It generated the prototype and code.

Problems I faced

Too few questions → results were often similar
UI required too many clicks → poor user experience.
Tooltips missing → some questions were hard to understand.
Users couldn’t easily copy answers.

Lesson learned: not creating a Convention File first was a mistake!

Iteration Fun

Even after fixing the prototype, I wasn’t fully satisfied. I added more questions and improved the scoring system.

However, tooltips broke in CSS. That’s where Cursor AI’s Rollback feature helped. I could go back to a previous checkpoint and fix issues. Claude also allowed copying code to a new chat for iteration.
